Wischin Hauland (today Wyszynki)

Wischin Hauland is important for researching the Gembitz Hauland parish as many of the families in the parish were married to or had moved into or out of this hauland.

The community of Wischin Hauland was created by merging 4 independent Holländer communities, Wischin Hauland, Philippiner Hauland, Josepher Hauland and Raczyner Hauland. The date of the merger is unknown.  Available records suggest that Raczyner Hauland was founded first in 1744 followed by Wischin Hauland.  Empire maps place the location on Raczyner Hauland and Wischin Hauland nearly in the same location.  The empire map used in www.meyersgaz.org places Wischin Hauland to the north along the Mittle Reihe while Raczyner Hauland is to the south along the Schul and Vordere Reihe.

The 1833 “Verzeichnis aller Ortschaften des Bromberger Regierungs-Bezirks; mit einer geographisch-statisctischen Uebersicht derselben“(Directory of all localities of the Bromberg administrative district; with a geographical and statistical overview of them list Wischin Hauland as the primary location with Josephowo, Filipowo and Maczyn (?) as sub locations with no statistics.  In 1833 the four haulands had 51 houses and 419 residents, 404 of whom were Lutheran.

Josepher Hauland

On February 22, 1750, Count Raczynski issued a privilege to Paul Wolski, Jakob Rosentreter, Johannes Friderich and Michel Jäger to create Josepher Hauland. This new hauland was located to the north of Raczyner Hauland.  Each of the 4 Holländer received 10 morgens of land. They were granted three free years as compensation for clearing the land. After the three years they were required to perform two days of labor for the landlord in the summer and one in the winter. They also had to provide the landlord one goose; two chickens and 30 eggs plus pay three zloty in taxes annually. All the wood on their land belonged to them.

Phillipiner Hauland

Phillipiner Hauland which was also called Filipowo was originally part of Niewiemko.

In the redemption process from 1847-50 the landowners are as follows:

  • Carl Ludwig Torno 1 full farm (No. 44).
  • Michael and Anna Kristina née Jahnke, Fischer married couple 1 full farm (No. 45).
  • Michael and Anna Christina née Mathews, Fenner spouses, 3/4 farm (No. 39).
  • Christoph Ludwig and Anna Christina née Hänsel (Stenzel), Schendel spouses, 3/4 farm (No. 43).
  • Ludwig Draeger 1/2 farm (No. 40).
  • Christian Friedrich Krüger 1/2 farm (No. 41).
  • Michael Schendel 1/2 farm (No. 42).

The home of the Raczynski family, Grünewald, was located at the northern end of the reihe where Phillipiner Hauland was located.

Below is a map of the Wischin Hauland as of 1945.
