Property 1 Partitions
Property 10
Martin and Amalie Maas partitioned a plot of land bordering the property of Ludwig Henke and adjoining the Radom-Niewiemko road from Property 1 on November 7, 1859. The couple on that date signed a contract with Christoph Tumm (1832-1887) and his wife Ernestina Wilhelmina nee Marten (1826-1882). The contract for the property was registered April 19, 1860.
The Tumms owned the property until February 20, 1875. In order to purchase Property 1, the couple sold the property to Ludwig Stenzel (1845-1894) and his wife Pauline nee Schendel (1855-1926).
Ludwig Stenzel worked as a Mauer in addition to owning the property.
An inheritance contract is created and registered between Pauline nee Schendel Stenzel, and the Stenzel siblings Emil (1877-1918) and Wanda (1881-1918), with the son and brother Ferdinand Otto Stenzel (born 1879) on June 28, 1912. Otto Stenzel marries Anne Klinger and registers the property jointly on June 20, 1913.
Property 14
Martin and Amalie Maas partitioned another 17 Morgen of farmland and pasture on April 26, 1864. The couple on that date signed a contract with Johann Wanke (born 1837), a tailor from Gembitz Hauland, to sell the property for 700 Thaler. The contract for the property was registered July 31, 1864.
During the period between signing and registering the contract Wanke married Anna Louise Antonie Henke (1844-1884) on May 20th. Antonie was the daughter of Michael Henke and the deceased Rosina nee Schmidt from Property 23.
On January 13, 1872 the Wankes signed a contract to sell the property to Antonie’s sister Anna Rosina nee Henke (1846-1872) and her husband Friedrich August Siewert (1845-1919) a carpenter from Gembitz Hauland.
Prior to registering the contract tragedy struck the family. There was a smallpox epidemic in the Gembitz Hauland parish. In the first four months of 1872 19 members of the parish died from the disease. On March 8, 1872 Anna Rosina became one of the victims leaving her husband and a two-and one half-year-old son Friedrich Gustav (born 1869).
The transfer of the property with Friedrich August’s former in-laws was completed August 9, 1872 for the agreed price of 695 Thaler. However, Anna Rosina’s estate had to be closed. Based an inheritance certificate dated October 5, 1872 the property was registered jointly with August’s now three-year-old son Gustav on February 1, 1873.
On May 7, 1872, two months after his wife’s death, August had married Rosina’s step-sister Pauline (1854-1946). August and Pauline became sole joint owners of the property on June 11, 1873 by purchasing Gustav’s share of the property with a contract dated three days after their wedding. In the agreement they agreed to pay Gustav 121 Thalers, 4 Silbergroschen, and 3 Pfennigs for his inheritance he received from his mother. The contract was to be paid in six equal installments on October 1st and April 1st including 5 percent interest when Gustav reached his majority, got married, or the guardianship court determined it was necessary. This contract was registered on July 17, 1873. This contract was satisfied on June 1, 1891 when a new contract for 1,400 Marks and 4 ½ percent interest payable in semiannual payments starting on July 1, 1891 was registered against the property.
August and Pauline nee Henke Siewert had seven children that survived childhood; Herman Robert (born 1873), Adolph Emil (1876-1945), Friedrich Otto (born 1879), Ewald Eduard (born 1882), Albert August (born 1886), Emma Wanda (born 1888), and Friedrich Karl (born 1891).
Prior to the marriage of their son Adolph Emil an inheritance contract was created to transfer the property. In exchange for the property each of Emil’s brothers who were to receive the following upon their majority or marriage.
- Otto – 900 Marks
- Eduard – 600 Marks
- August – 600 Marks
- Friedrich – 750 Marks
Robert and Wanda were both married and had likely received their share of the property already.
This contract was registered on September 25, 1907 the day Emil married Wanda Laura Stibbe (1881-1909). Emil then registered the property jointly with his new wife on December 11, 1907.
This joint ownership was short as Laura died on September 30, 1909, two weeks after giving birth to a son Max Emil (born 1909). Emil registers as sole owner of the property on February 18, 1910. Shortly thereafter he marries Emma Wanda Kurtz (born 1888) from Gembitz Hauland. The couple holds the property jointly until 1937 when they transfer it to their daughter Margarete Ida (1911-1994) upon her marriage to Otto Fischer (1909- 1997) after 1935. The couple held the property until the end of the war.
