The smallpox epidemic that struck Polajewo Hauland in 1872 killed Amalie nee Reichert Raatz on February 18, 1872 the day after she gave birth to a daughter Amalie Pauline Raatz who died one day after her mother.   She left three surviving children, Auguste Albertine Reichert (born 1862 prior to Amalie marrying Hermann Raatz), Emilie Bertha (born 1865) and Ernest Wilhelm Raatz (born 1867).

When the inheritance contract was registered on January 5, 1881 Eduard and Pauline Pfeiffer became joint owners of the property.

Pauline nee Wichner Raatz Pfeiffer died on March 4, 1887.  Pauline and Eduard had two surviving children Emma Marie (born 1883) and Gustav Otto (born 1885).  Those two children plus the two children from Pauline’s marriage to Hermann Raatz received a mother’s inheritance of 379 Marks and 48 Pfennig.  That contract was created on July 8, 1887 and recorded on September 25, 1887.

When the contract is recorded Eduard has married Ottilia nee Schedler (born 1861) and they become joint owners of the property.  The Pfeiffer’s transferred the property to their daughter Wanda Martha (born 1890) upon her marriage to Karl August Siewert (born 1891) on March 2, 1920.  Karl August was the son of Friedrich August Siewert and Pauline nee Henke the former owners of Property 14.  The Siewert’s owned the property until the war.
