The Land Records

The holländer Martin Krüger acquired title to this property through a deed of conveyance peacefully concluded on June 19, 1818, with his parents, the spouses Martin Krüger, in exchange for a life lease and a settlement for his siblings. Title to the property was recognized as having been transferred to him by decree of April 30, 1834.
The illness of Martin Krüger described in the partition of Farm 1 likely also complicated the initial ownership of Farm 2. Prior to the signing of the Rezess Contract on December 14, 1835, a note was added to the documents saying that “the owners Martin Krueger named number 1 and Michael Krueger II named number 36 have exchanged their properties for one another.” Martin Krüger and Michael Krüger are likely brothers, but no sources have been found to prove it.
The holländer Michael Krüger and his wife Anne Christine, née Siewert acquired ownership of Farm 2, from Martin Krüger and his wife Anne Christine nee Hoeft, before a notary and witnesses on April 21, 1831, by exchanging his Farm 40 and giving Martin Krüger an additional 50 Thaler. The title of ownership was registered to Michael and Anne Christine Krüger on April 30, 1834.
Michael previously had been married to Anne Florentine Zeimen from whom he had inherited Farm 40. She died prior to 1830. Between 1830 and1831 Michael married Anne Christine Siewert with whom they had one son Johann Peter Krüger in 1833.
Michael Krüger died between December 14, 1835, and January 19, 1837. The ownership of Farm 2 is registered to his widow Anna Christine Krüger, née Siewert, and her second husband Gottlieb Nothnagel on December 21, 1843. The land record states that she received the property from the estate of her first husband, Michael Krüger, in the settlement with his heirs pursuant to the decrees of January 19, May 13, August 30, and December 7, 1837.
No further information has been found for either Gottlieb Nothnagel or Anna Christine. The next line of the land record is cut off. It appears that the couple sold the property to Peter Siewert but there is no further information. The owner of the property on October 1, 1855, is Christoph Stegmann. No information has been found for him.
Rentenkataster 1855 – 1920
The Rentenkataster lists only three owners of Farm 2:
- Christoph Stegmann
- Rudolph August Siebert (Siewert)
- The widow, Wilhelmine geb. Westphal Siebert (born circa 1834)
The name Rudolph August Siebert is inconsistent with the other records. Wilhelmine Westphal Siebert married Michael Ludwig Gustav Siebert (1834-1893) on May 26, 1861. All subsequent records for this property list Gustav Siebert as the owner. The couple had a son, August Rudolph, in 1870.
Property Tax 1863-1865
Gustav Siebert likely became owner of this property prior to his wedding. The marriage records say that “the farmer and bachelor Michael Ludwig Gustav Siewert oldest son of the life estate resident Johann Martin Siewert.” This record suggests that Martin Siewert may have owned this property first. The property tax records of 1864 and the Parish Affairs and Church Tax records of 1876-1880 list Gustaf Siebert as the owner of Farm 2.
Building Register June 1, 1907
Per the building register of June 1, 1907, Rudolf Siebert, the son of Gustav and Wilhelmine, is the owner of the farm. The farm consisted of two buildings. A house with an attached cattle barn and a shed.
Community Register 1921 – 1933
The community register created after Gembitzhauland (now Gebiczyn) becomes part of Poland lists Rudolph Siebert as the owner of the property in 1922. He is living with his wife, Anna Sauer (born 1878) and daughter Olga Clara Siebert (1892-1925).
